Right-hander Mitch Keller and the Pittsburgh Pirates are in agreement on a five-year contract extension, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel.

After a breakout season in which he struck out 210, the 27-year-old Keller will anchor the rotation for the team that drafted him in the second round of the 2014 draft.

Keller, 27, was an All-Star for the first time last season when he finished 13-9 with a 4.21 ERA.

He is 25-38 with a 4.71 ERA in 102 career appearances (100 starts). He has 521 strikeouts in 523⅔ innings.
